Weekly North Route

Experience the sights of Kalymnos, Leros and Lipsi

Day 1

We (Andy & Carole) greet you at Kos airport and then a 10 minute drive will bring you to the Port of Kardamena where “Zeus Too” awaits you. Relax and unpack and then really start your Greek holiday with a traditional meze at a local taverna overlooking Kardamena Harbour. Your first night aboard your luxury motor yacht.

Day 2

Your first morning aboard, we have a leisurely breakfast in the shade on the aft deck, al fresco and a chat about the days sailing and how you would like to spend your day, for example whether you would like a long leisurely lunch or more time to explore the island or port of the day. We then up anchor to start your Island Hopping Adventures. Our first lunch time anchorage is a little bay on the island of Pserimos, with time to swim or just relax before heading to the small port of Pserimos. We arrive late afternoon as the last of the day tripper boats leave. You have time to stroll through the port and swim in the now deserted beach. Your evening meal is quite literally a taverna on the beach.

Day 3

After breakfast we leave Pserimos to the uninhabited island of Plati for our lunchtime anchorage. After lunch we head to Kalymnos and the picturesque fjord like inlet of Vathy, where we anchor overnight in the Port of Rina. You can swim from the boat or paddle board to the cave swing or for those of you who are adventurous try cliff jumping like a local! Your evening meal will be enjoyed in one of the surrounding tavernas. Back onboard for the night, ready for another day and another bay.

Day 4

After breakfast we travel at a gentle pace to the next island, Leros and our overnight anchorage in Pandeli. This is a pretty horseshoe shaped bay with the traditional blue and white house’s adorning the hill side. Here you have plenty of time to swim from the boat, or go ashore to explore or for those who are feeling energetic hike to Pandeli Castle and enjoy the spectacular views. We take you ashore in the RIB for your evening meals in one of the many tavernas along the bay. Back on board for a nightcap and maybe a late night swim with our underwater lights illuminating the sea.

Day 5

Waking up in this gorgeous anchorage with an early morning dip, we then leave Leros and head further north to the Lipsi Islands. Our BBQ stop will be in another bay where you can enjoy the warm clear waters before heading to the charming port of Lipsi, here you can stroll through the streets or sit in one of the many tavernas and enjoy the peace and tranquility whilst sipping an ice cold beer or ouzo. If you want another swim the lovely sandy beach is just 5 minutes away and guess what…..another taverna!

Day 6

This morning we head back to Leros but on the west coast to the town of Lakki, which is set in a deep natural harbour. Our BBQ lunch is spent in a secluded cove which has a natural cave for you to snorkel in. Late afternoon we head into Lakki marina. You can explore the town, or the interesting WW2 museum set in one of the many tunnels which were dug during the war or head to a taverna or beach for a swim, the choice is entirely yours.

Day 7

A slow start to the day before heading south back to Kalymnos but this time travelling down the west coast to the infamous Pirate Bay. Here we take you ashore for lunch where we are served by real pirates! Beware their ouzo is dangerous, but the food is amazing! After lunch we set out to Pothia, which is the main port of Kalymnos. Pothia is very picturesque with brightly coloured houses built amphitheatrically around the port. Here you can browse the shops through the winding streets and alleyways, pick up a natural sponge (as Kalymnos is famous for these) and decide where you would like to eat tonight.

Day 8

A leisurely breakfast in the shade on the aft deck. We then move onto your last lunch time stop and swim, this will be either at the tranquil island of Kastri, which is the Mama Mia Island of Kos or at the stunning blue water bay in Pserimos. We return to Kardamena, ending your stay on board but not only will you take home a nice tan but also a suitcase full of memories. This route offers a wide variety of harbours and beautiful bays. The described routes are subject to change and can be adjusted due to weather and other circumstances. This is always at the discretion of the skipper.
